Blue Roses

Blue roses do not exist naturally. Many of those sold at the florists are actually white roses dyed blue. I have read that this is the only colour that plant breeders have difficulty in getting. A blue rose is rare indeed. Since 2004, an Australian company Florigene and a Japanese company Suntory had successfully created the blue rose by genetic engineering after 13 years of collaboration.
