Blue roses do not exist naturally. Many of those sold at the florists are actually white roses dyed blue. I have read that this is the only colour that plant breeders have difficulty in getting. A blue rose is rare indeed. Since 2004, an Australian company Florigene and a Japanese company Suntory had successfully created the blue rose by genetic engineering after 13 years of collaboration. The blue rose symbolizes:
- mystery and excitement
- the impossible and unattainable
- extraordinary and wonderful personality

I haven't seen one but i think it is more beautiful with Vanda orchid than the rose. Maybe it is just preference!
