The dried flower bulbs of the yellow daylily is edible and used in Chinese cooking. Fresh flowers are very popular as cut flowers.
Note:
This daylily grows well in the cool regions of our highlands but not in my humid, hot garden. After it finished opening the first round of flower buds, it continued to grow only leaves and never flowered again.

ReplyDeleteWe eat the dried/preserved lily buds. You may have eaten them before at vegetarian restaurants where they are usually cooked with mushrooms and wood fungus.
