Scientific name: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis cultivars
Common name: Hibiscus
Family: Malvaceae
Origin: Hort.
Category: Evergreen free flowering shrub
Photo taken at: My home garden
Notes:
Most hibiscus flowers last only a day but this one lasts 2 days. It closes on the first evening but open again on the second day before it closes again and wither of - just like the water lily. It is a compact shrub, mine is 0.6 m (2 ft) tall but the flowers are large, about 10-12 cm diameter. It has beautiful dark green, oval-shaped leaves.
